| Today we received a testimonial from Leonie and Philip whose wedding we photographed in June ... |

Thank you so much for our beautiful wedding photos. The whole process was seamless from meeting you at our house to receiving our gorgeous book last week.
To have memories of the entire day from getting everyone ready to our first dance is superb and the photos really tell the parallel story of bride and groom through the morning to coming together at the alter, perfect.
We've already framed many of the day's 'perfect moments'!
You have given us memories we will cherish forever. Thank you.

| It means so much to us receiving such a nice email and it really has made our day! |
| And today got even better when we also heard from Gillian & Travis who had received their password for their online gallery during the week ... |

Dear Mark and Marianne.
Wow!!!! We are absolutely thrilled with our wedding photo's!! But then we always knew that we would be!
We can't believe how many amazing photo's there are and how well they tell the story of the day.
Not sure how we are going to choose 200 but will get to work on that in due course!
Thank you for being our photographers and recording all the special moments of our day so well.
Just one last thing.... you do realise that you will be required at some point over the next couple of years to photograph a couple of Christenings!
Kind regards, Gillian and Travis.

After receiving these lovely comments about our work it feels like that on this first Saturday off for a long time it will be OK to put our feet up and relax after a long walk and pub lunch.
And last week an email from Abigail who is looking for wedding photographers in 2010 ... |

''We've researched many photographers online and looked at so many galleries and portfolios that we're now pretty clear on what we like - iconic, funny and beautiful images; nothing staged or dull''.

| We just loved Abigail's description of our work ''Iconic, funny and beautiful images; nothing staged or dull'' ... so much so that we are considering using those words in our marketing. |

Wedding Photojournalism Exhibition |
| |
|
|
| |
We have known for a long time and now it is official - we will be having a major exhibition of our work at the Photo Fair (Fotomässa) in Stockholm 13th-15th November.
We are delighted to have been invited to show our special style of reportage wedding photography at this Fair - the largest of its kind in Scandinavia with some 20.000 visitors.
It was a pleasurable but difficult task choosing the images that are representative of our work. We have been working closely with the talented Rosie Sunde at Build Communications and have gone along with her suggestions and will be having a matt finish on our images. It is Fantastic to be able to exhibit photographs that are printed at 1.5m in width - Big is Beautiful !
|

We are not only exhibiting we shall also be talking about our work. |

Judges Comments: This is an awesome image of anticipation. Who can't relate to this picture, the crowd waiting, the groom alone in his thoughts, pondering what is about to change. Beautiful image that perfectly captures a moment of solitary contemplation.
Judges Comments: I love the nervous expression that has been captured here but what I find most interesting is the guests in the background who don't seem to notice the tension at all. This photographer made a very intimate moment and captured it well with the shallow depth of field. |
| |
|
| |
Judges Comments: The body language of both subjects made this image rise above the rest. The arc of the woman's posture at left was surprising in nature. It was a nice contrast to the slump of the man at right. The composition was simple and clean, and the light was strong. Loved the tennis shoes the man was wearing, it's a nice subtle detail. Good work.
Judges Comments: This image also had a strong composition complimented by the moment and body language between the pair. |

Judges Comments: Beautiful layering in this artfully composed frame of the corsage pinning. The body language is wonderful. |

Hannah and Peter's Wedding |
| |
|
|
| |
Ceremony: St Mary's Church in Rotherhithe, London.
Reception: The Charing Cross Hotel, The Strand, London.
Hannah and Peter were married yesterday. They were married at the historic St Mary's Church [ Read about this in September's blog ] and their reception was held at the magnificent Charing Cross Hotel in central London.
They had an amazing day and to choose a small amount of representative images for this blog was quite hard as we have so many. The day started early in the morning with a Chinese Tea Ceremony with Hannah's parents and relatives where she was getting ready. It was here that Peter was to collect Hannah and to take her to their home for a 2nd Tea Ceremony with Peter's parents and relatives.
As tradition would have it Hannah's friends played the door game by blocking the door for Peter. When he was finally let in he did not have an easy time collecting Hannah and he had to prove to them that he was worthy of his beautiful bride. They had arranged a number of games that Peter and his attendants had to do and they were given points - on achieving 10 points Peter was deemed worthy and he could collect his bride.
It was great fun. There were about 8 games involved and the funniest (Apart from passing an egg mouth to mouth) was that Peter and his friends had 5 minutes to compose a love song to Hannah on various instruments including a small pink guitar.
The Tea Ceremonies were wonderful and it was a pleasure to have experienced and to have photographed them. Hannah was dressed in an amazing traditional red Chinese bridal dress - she later later changed into a wonderful white wedding dress for the church service.
On arriving at St Mary's I was greeted by the very cheerful Father Mark who was lighting the candles in the church. The service went very well ... and was extremely emotional. This was a couple that were clearly in love and at moments during the service their emotions spilled over into tears... and at the same time there were smiles and laughter.
Hannah and Peter were introduced to each other 2 years ago at Peter's Best man Simon Chan's wedding. Simon and his twin brother Raymond were fantastic! At the wedding they made sure everything ran smoothly and they organised all the arrangements - perhaps they should consider taking up being Wedding Coordinators as a profession. Simon had even purchased a chauffeurs hat to use when he was driving the couple around.
Simon and Raymond thank you for your help.
Hannah & Peter are not only a lovely couple but they are also very kind and considerate - as are their families. We were with them for a long time (13 hours), and they made sure we were fed and watered during the day. We can vouch that the main course of lamb at the reception was exquisite.

Here's looking at you kid |

A week after having asked Marianne ¨Have you seen my reading glasses¨ and I realised that they were not to be seen again [pun] and I had to go to the opticians and get a new prescription.
I was quite amazed at the equipment they use - new for me was that they even take pictures of your eye (This is my left eye) and by looking at the image they can detect eye problems - they can even see if you have diabetes or high blood pressure.
My first reaction when I saw the image was that I thought it looked like a volcanic eruption on Mars. |
