We drove up to Manchester yesterday to attend an all day seminar ''The Ultimate Wedding Photojournalism Seminar'' led by two of the world’s leading wedding photojournalists Jeff Ascough & George Weir.
It was en excellent seminar and they were both good speakers. They had some amazing images and it was interesting to hear about how they work and their thoughts about wedding photography - very inspirational. |

Dear Mark & Marianne
The pictures are totally gorgeous! How we are going to pick 100 to print I don’t know! It’s been work work work since we got back so we haven’t had a minute to really start choosing. Hope to do that one night next week so we’ll be in touch soon.
And thank you both for being brilliant on the day. I feel like we really didn't’ see you until you said goodbye! Many guests mentioned that you were more like guests enjoying the party than photographers!
Hope the move is going well,
Best wishes
Leonie & Phil

Bonjour Mark & Marianne
We'll be writing to you in more detail when we return from France, however we just wanted to drop you a quick note to say thank you so much for all your efforts last Saturday.
Judging from the pics on your website, you have captured the spirit of the day wonderfully. Marianne and you are charming...it was a delight to meet and work with you and we can't thank you enough for stepping in at the 'last minute' and being so accommodating.
We are so excited to see the rest of the photos!
All the best,
Ben & Lizzie

We received these emails during the week from our latest 2 weddings - it is so nice to receive emails like these, it means so much to us.
Our couples having been using some great vintage cars for transport on their wedding day. Leonie & Philip had 2 old Rovers and Lizzie & Ben had 2 old Citroens.

Lizzie and Ben's Wedding |
| |
|
|
| |
Ceremony: Fettes College, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Reception: Belgrave Crescent Gardens, Edinburgh, Scotland.
Lizzie and Ben were married yesterday on a fantastic sunny day in Edinburgh.
They had beautiful locations for their wedding with the service held in the Chapel of the magnificent imposing Fettes College building - built in 1870 and designed by architect David Bryce using a mixture of Scottish Baronial and French Chateau.
The service led by Revd David Campbell went very well. Lizzie made a wonderful entrance and from my view point high up in the gallery I could see Ben's beaming smile as Lizzie walked up the aisle towards him. I thought that the singing was very good and it felt like that the whole congregation took part together with the choir.
The reception was held in a marquis in the gardens of Belgrave Crescent opposite Lizzie's parents house. The gardens looked wonderful and the grass was as well kept as the greens at St Andrews. The floral decorations looked fantastic as did the wedding cake made by Lizzie's sister.
Ben's brothers best men speeches were excellent and they had everyone laughing .... one of the Telegrams to the bridal couple that they read out was so saucy that a few probably choked on their whisky ... it was great fun.
Later in the evening there was Scottish country dancing. I have never seen the Reels danced before and it was amazing to see, most of the guests were dancing which created a fantastic party atmosphere and everyone had a great time.
Lizzie and Ben both love their sports. Lizzie was part of the Great Britain Olympic Rowing Team in Athens 2004, now days she and Ben enjoy Triathlons and Iron Man events.
After a couple of days relaxing in Paris they will then be taking part in a cycle race held just before the Tour de France on the famed 167 km tough mountain stage up the dreaded 'bald mountain', the Mont Ventoux.

The Long Walk |
| |
|
|
| |
Just a few years ago I ran 4 marathons in 1 year (New York, Stockholm, London x2) .... that was then and alas I have become what the Swede's amusingly call a ''Soffpotatis'' which roughly translated means your a lazy potato lying in a sofa - you get the idea.
It is time to do something about it and today I found this beautiful avenue called The Long Walk which goes from Windsor Castle to the Copper Horse statue of King George III atop Snow Hill, it is a 5km stretch which is ideal for a 10km power walk in the morning. Today at 7am it was a wonderful summer morning and I noticed deer on one side of the avenue - it felt like I was back in Sweden. On the way back to the castle I saw that The Royal Standard was flying which is the sign that the Queen was in residence. |
