Caroline & Steve's Wedding

Ceremony & Reception: Nyckelvikens Herrgård, Nacka, Stockholm.
Would it be an outdoor or an indoor service was the big question for Caroline & Steve's wedding yesterday.
The day started well with sunshine but there were a few ominous dark rain clouds hanging around - at noon the decision was made it would be an indoor service ... it would be proven to have been the correct choice.
Caroline & Steve live in London but decided to have their Swedish - Australian wedding just outside Stockholm at the beautiful 16th century mansion Nyckelviken.
Their guests were transported to Nyckeviken on the boat 'M/S Stockholms Ström 1' built in 1902 and still serving trips to the Stockholm Archipelago - you needed to hold on tight when the waves hit side-on from other passing boats.
Caroline & Steve had a fantastic wedding - their service was full of emotion, when Caroline started to cry I noticed that a lot of their friends started wiping their eyes as well - there was so much emotion in the air that even the the Registrar conducting the service broke down - that was a first for us and it made for our favourite image from the day.
Carolina & Steve spent their first night in suite 704 (It's on the hotel website) in Stockholm's best designer hotel - Hotel Rival, owned and run by (former ABBA star) Benny Andersson.

Katarina & Dalu's Wedding
|

Ceremony & Reception: Dalslands Gästgiveri, Gyltungebyn, Dalsland.
Katarina and Dalu were married yesterday on Midsummer's Eve in the beautiful countryside of southern Sweden.
Midsummer's Eve is the traditional high-point of the summer, the nights in Sweden hardly become dark, it is possible to read a book outdoors in the midnight light, further In the north the sun never sets for about 4 weeks.
Traditionally Swedish families gather together on this day for a large family feast, also on Midsummer's Eve young women should pick seven different types of flowers and lay them under their pillows and at night their future husbands would appear to them in a dream - we are guessing that Katarina skipped that tradition this year.
Katarina and Dalu had a great day, their Swedish - Zimbabwean wedding went very well and their family and friends from 10 different countries were treated to a fantastic location for the service which was held at a guest-house on a hill top that had fantastic panoramic views over the lakes and forests.
It was a sunny day with very strong winds and intermittent heavy showers during the morning, their lucked held and the showers passed by and their outdoor service was held in sunshine.
The marquee sides were taken off to give their guests the scenic views during the service, however the blustering wind was still very strong and it was unsure if the marquee would hold ... but thankfully it did.

Narelle & Jolyon's Wedding
|
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
Ceremony: Fulham Town Hall, London.
Reception: Leighton House, Kensington, London.
It was a nice summers day in London, a bit on the chilly side at 18° but with sunny spells - also a colourful day in the city with the Queen’s birthday parade and trooping the colour.
Narelle and Jolyon are from Australia and are now living in London. I can imagine that they felt that they had a perfect wedding day, the one that they had hoped and wished for and were able to share with their friends and relatives.
The service at the Town Hall went very well and was very moving, it was held in a magnificent room where the seating was built in a circles around where Narelle and Jolyon were seated, it made for a very friendly almost ...cosy feeling to the service.
A traditional London routemaster bus from 1965 took their guests to the reception.
Champagne was served on the lawn of the magnificent Leighton House (former studio-house of the great Victorian artist Frederic, Lord Leighton) dinner was served in one of the large upstairs galleries where the tables were covered in black tablecloths with golden chairs on a red carpet - it was colour combination that looked stunning. |

Lisa & Ian's Wedding
|
|
| |
|

|
| |
|
| |
Ceremony: Borgholms slott, Öland.
Reception: Halltorps Gästgiveri, Öland.
Last week Sweden had the best weather in Europe with temperatures reaching 34°, this heat-wave carried over to Lisa and Ian's wedding on Sunday. Their Swedish-English wedding was held in the ruins of an eight hundred year old castle on the island of Öland - their reception was held at the charming 11th century Halltop Inn.
Ian together with their friends and relations waited for Lisa in the west wing turret which commanded fantastic views over the Baltic Sea.
After all the months of planning for this special day it had now arrived and the scene was set - a slight sea breeze swept in cooling the guests, the sea twinkled in the background and the sun shone out of a deep blue sky, local musicians started playing the entrance song, then the bridesmaids entered followed by Lisa and her mum - the moment had arrived and it was magical and moving and everybody who was there felt it.
