We have just put online Kristine & Joakim's wedding pictures for them to view.
During the production of the photographs I kept coming back to this image which is one of our favourites from their wedding day - Kristine was going to walk down the aisle on her own preceded by her sister and Maid of Honour Rachel, Joakim can be seen waiting at the alter.
As the doors open and the music starts up Rachel turns to Kristine .....after all the preparations and planning everything is in place - friends and relatives from far and near are in the church - Joakim is waiting - and at the reception they are chilling the champagne .....its all down to this, the moment has arrived and its going to happen now. |

Kristina & Michael's Wedding

Kristina & Michael were married yesterday at Gustav Vasa church in Stockholm.
We took the bridal portraits at the city hall before the wedding, Magnus the Best Man and Lena the Maid of Honor were also with us to give a helping hand.
it was a very cold day at -2° the added strong wind blowing off the lake gave a chill factor of around -12° everyone froze - except the bride.
It was so cold that I had lost the feeling in the finger top I use on the camera's shutter release yet standing in front of me was Kristina wearing just a thin wedding dress who was so happy she didn't feel the cold at all - she radiated happiness and was just loving the start to her wedding day.
The service went well, the Gustav Vasa church is a haven of tranquility in this bustling part of Stockholm, the vastness of the church with its dome lends to great acoustics which was appreciated by all listening to the choir - Michael's brother was one of the singers.
They will now leave winter Sweden for their honeymoon in warmer climates, the only ice they will see for the next few weeks will be in their poolside drinks. |

I was testing out a small pocket camera in London yesterday.
I met the crew at Wedding TV where I had my interview, the film team Olga and Nessa were very kind and good fun - strange to have been on the other side of the camera, they tell me it went well ... I'm not so sure.
I bumped into Joseph Newman outside Fortnum and Mason on Piccadilly, 91 year old Joseph is a familiar face on this London street, in 2001 he was awarded an MBE for his charity work - Paratrooper Joseph was at Dunkirk and the D-Day Landings. |

Today we had our rehearsal with Kristina & Michael at Gustav Vasa church in Stockholm.
The Gustav Vasa church is an impressive building, inaugurated in 1906 it is one of the largest churches in Stockholm with seating for 1,200 people, the most striking feature being the 60 meter high dome and the alter in baroque style from 1731 which was originally made for Uppsala cathedral.
It was back in April 2007 that Kristina & Michael booked us so it was great to have met up again.
Kristina told us that she has had wedding nerves for quite a while but felt that on the day she will be calm - Michael on the other hand has not been nervous at all but tells us that on the day he will probably be a nervous wreck - I guess with Kristina's nerves calming down and with Michael's increasing they should be on the same level around the time we will be taking their pre-wedding portraits.
Just as we were discussing the lighting in the church we bumped into church warden Fredrik Af Klint who as it turns out is an opera singer and knows the value of good lighting from his experiences standing on the stage.
Fredrik pointed out where there were spot lights that can be used to light up the alter, alas Fredrik will not be working on their wedding day next week but will arrange the details with a colleague ...we are hoping it will work well.

Kristine & Joakim's Wedding |

Kristine & Joakim were married yesterday at Häverö church, their reception was held at Skebo Herrgård.
Kristine had wished for a Swedish winter wedding unfortunately the weather has been extremely mild with no snow at all - this day also started out mild but during the day the temperature dropped and she not only got her snow she had a full blown blizzard.
We met some very nice people during the day, the vicar Håkan Sandberg was wonderful and full of warmth, I was shooting the wedding from the back of the church (Marianne was up front) just before Kristine arrived the church warden set up a table for me with some bottled water and a glass - kind of him, the staff at the manor house were also very friendly.
Kristine and Joakim's guests were treated to a fantastic dinner - Elk was served as the main course, later in the evening rather than going for a traditional wedding cake they had 2 large 'semlor' which was a cool idea - semlor being an almond & whipped cream stuffed bun ..so good.
I can imagine that they had exactly the wedding they had wished for - a relaxing weekend spent with friends and family in a great setting. |
