Charlotte & Hans Henrik

Today we had our rehearsal with Charlotte & Hans-Henrik, who will be getting married at Bromma church, there are many objects hanging from the church roof - not all of them immediately obvious as to why they are there.
Their many guests from abroad will be visiting not only the oldest church in Stockholm but also a fantastic building for the reception - Ulfsunda Slott built between 1644-1647.
We had a nice time walking around the grounds looking for locations to take the bridal portraits, we were trying to imagine how the grounds would look in late autumn rather than high summer - we all felt that the tree-lined alley would work well and hopefully would be very colourful with all the autumn leaves.

Today we also had our rehearsal with Lisa and Peter, who will be getting married at the wonderful Millesgården on Lidingö.
We spent a pleasant time walking around with them at this great location, Millegården is a great place for wedding photography, it felt that we were in Italy rather than in Sweden, their guests are going to have a great day - and evening to be spent at nearby Högberga Gård.
Having just moved house, planning a large wedding and bringing up small children can be a hectic time but Lisa & Peter are relaxed and enjoying it all. |

Lisa & Mark's Wedding |

Lisa from Sweden and Mark from England had a great wedding day at Gryts church, their reception was held at Grytsbergs Säteri.
This opening shot of Marianne's is one of our favourites this summer, a young girl who wants to be a princess, a young woman about to be married and a helping mum.
We too had a great day with Lisa & Mark and we had a lot of fun, it was fun to have been with Mark and his best man & ushers during their preparations, there was plenty of teasing and good jokes.
They were very lucky with the weather, 5 minutes after leaving the church it poured down in a quick passing shower, however it brightened up for them to make a cool entrance on a moped for the toasting of the bride. |

Carin & Mathias's Wedding |
|

Carin and Mathias fell not just in love with each other but also with a small island called Ven which they visit regularly.
Ven lies between between Sweden and Denmark and was the natural place for this couple to marry, their wedding was held yesterday in St. Ibbs church which dates from the 13th century and their reception was held at Hamnkrogen.
Unsettled weather was forecasted but for this wedding day it turned out just fine - ''Ven, always has beautiful weather'' said a ferry worker to me on the trip over - he was right, the weather turned out shiny and Carin shined with it.
Carin had planned this day for a long time .. she and her mum had even sewn 57 new covers for the chairs at the venue so everything would match her chosen colour scheme of green and white - and it did - everything looked just wonderful - Carin you are best ! |

Katarina & Thomas's Wedding |

Wow - what a couple and what a day, like their guests we too had a great time - it is a privilege as wedding photojournalists to be part of a couple's special day and to be able to document it for them.
There was very little space for one of us to photograph at the alter so we set up a remote camera which was triggered from the back of the church - it worked very well, as seen in the slideshow.
Some brides have a problem transporting their guests, not Katarina she hitched up her wedding dress sat behind the wheel of an 18m long 17 ton Stockholm city bus and drove all the guests from the church to the venue.
Our trip went via Stockholm city center, there were many Saturday shoppers out and about that could not believe what they were seeing, it was great fun seeing their reactions. |

Marianne was awarded with a top ten shot in the first quarterly WPJA photo contest.
Judges comments: I am used to seeing the groom reaction pictures, but his expression caught my attention. Once again, a little humor goes a long way in a category about emotion. Not only is the subject having an emotional reaction, but I have one observing him. There is a sincerity in this picture that I found charming. |
