We have been to Gryts church and Grytsbergs Säteri again and had our rehearsal with Lisa & Mark a great couple who will be having their Swedish - English wedding at this wonderful place in the Swedish countryside not to far from Stockholm.
It is not easy planning a wedding from abroad and Lisa & Mark have some intensive days sorting everything out and making the final preparations before they return in July for their big day.
It was rather nice as we were walking around today to hear this beautiful Swedish woman say Mark in an endearing way - I turned my head more than once only to see her looking at her own Mark ... I am Mark the groom is Mark and even the best man is called Mark.
Driving away from the rehearsal I looked back in my car mirror and saw this couple standing there alone in the car park kissing each other ... they are going to have a great wedding! (Life) |

Today we had our planning rehearsal with Cecilia & Rasmus who will be getting married in June at Gryts church which dates back to the 11th century.
Cecilia & Rasmus will be having wedding activities over 3 days and their guests will enjoy some beautiful surroundings at the Grytsbergs Säteri.
When we visited the Manor it was windy yet sunny, we looked around where we could do the natural bridal couple portraits and found a lot of places on the grounds, the church lies just a couple of hundred meters away.
Cecilia's colour scheme for the wedding is green which is appropriate as it fits with the lush country surroundings for their wedding.
Grytsbergs Säteri is probably one of the best wedding venues we have visited, we were delighted at seeing all the possible locations to take photographs in case of bad weather.
I came across some cake toppers on a shelf at the manor, they have been left behind from previous weddings - if they could talk there would be many stories to be told. |

Just back from a 2 day stock photography trip to southern Sweden and the beautiful area of Skåne - it reminds me of England.
My main purpose for the trip was to take some stock photographs of the fabulous yellow rape fields, I made it just in time as they have just peaked with the flowering. |

Trons !! a fantastic character, friend and great photographer.
He loves his country but most of all he loves Dalarna! a fantastic area in Sweden.
Trons had just spent 4 days walking the old historic trails of the Dalarna people from Stockholm to his home town of Falun and along the way he had his 50th birthday.
I drove up to meet him as he crossed over into dalarna on his walk - he was greeted by close friends as he emerged from the woods with his walking stick and wearing the traditional dalarna clothes.
We sat down on the forest floor and ate 'Gustav Sausage' with dry 'Vika bread' - the others washed it down with Swedish snaps - we are talking 8:30 in the morning, I had to drive back to Stockholm.
He is still out there somewhere in the forests - he should make the 240-km walk within the next couple of days.
Trons crosses the river and takes the jump into Dalarna.

Today we had our planning rehearsal with Cathrine & Kjell who will be getting married in the very heart of Roslagen in the beginning of June - a wedding to be held in fantastic historic and beautiful surroundings.
Häverö Kyrka is a beautiful church that was built in the beginning of the 14th century, the surrounding area was lived in during the iron age.
The church has many biblical paintings covering the ceiling some of which were painted by a master that was close to the famous German church painter Albertus Pictor.
Cathrine & Kjell are going to have a great day in the very best surroundings. |

At the weekend we had our planning rehearsal with Karin & Darius from California, they shall be getting married in Siljansnäs.
Siljansnäs church started to be built in 1867 and eight years later in 1875 it was ready - what we noticed when we drove by was the amount of large windows the church has, windows mean light and for wedding photographers it is all about light! having gone inside we were very pleased, it is probably the lightest and brightest church we have been in - thank you.
Karin & Darius are a great fun couple and they will be having their Swedish - American wedding in some truly fantastic surroundings, their American guests will be seeing Sweden at its best where Karin's has her roots in 'Dalarna' |
