Nicola & Andy's Wedding

Nicola & Andy from England got married in the English Church in Stockholm on the 10th of February, their reception was held at Ulla Winbladh.

Marianne took a really nice shot which was our favourite from the wedding, they had just left the service and were about to sign the registry, they were looking at the rings on their fingers for the first time - they were now married.

Nicola had dreamed of having a white wedding in Stockholm, and she had the perfect day. The snow was laying on the ground and the sun was shining out of a clear blue sky - but it was so cold-!!

Whilst taking the portraits after the wedding I asked Nicola if she was OK - she was standing there in just a thin wedding dress and cape, it was -13° she replied that she didn't feel the cold as she was so happy - I believed her, the look on her face said it all - I myself had on Marks & Spencer thermals, a thick jumper and a heavy sheepskin coat.

Stuffed Buns

Today in Sweden it is Fettisdagen and by tradition one eats Semlor
or put another way
Today in Sweden it is Fat Tuesday (before Lent) and the Swedes will be eating Almond & whipped cream stuffed buns.

If you like your Almond & whipped cream stuffed bun super-size they can be found, I took this shot at a bakery on Kungsgatan a couple of years ago.

Eva & JB's Wedding

Eva & JB were a truly delightful couple and had a beautiful winter wedding on the 27th of January, the service was held at the Seglora Kyrka at Skansen and the reception was held at Ulfsunda Slott.

Whilst Marianne was in the church I was waiting with the vicar at the entrance for Eva's arrival, it was a perfect winter day, a crisp cold air, blue skies and a lovely sunset - the light we needed in the church disappeared 5 minutes later with the sunset
Eva arrived with her dad and 7 bridesmaids - they took over! there was an organised chaos as they all got ready in the small cramped waiting room.

Everything went very well and Eva and JB had a great wedding. We also were very pleased, the church was extremely dark and the shoot was a challenge technically but everything worked out well.

On visiting the church a week before on our rehearsal with Eva & JB we noticed that a spotlight on an overhead beam gave a very ugly shadow over the area where Eva was to stand at the alter - With JB's help we got a long ladder and took the bulb out, it gave us better images - the small details can make or break a shoot.

We were pleased to see that Eva's dress was from one of our working partners Garamaj.

Let's Dance

I have found myself watching Friday nights TV show Let's Dance - and secretly admit to enjoying it.
It was great fun to have photographed 2 of the contestants Tobias Blom & Anika Sjöö during their training, Tobias and Anika got a great score from last weeks competition from a normally restraint jury.
... I guess I will be watching tonight.

Marianne Lindberg de Geer

Marianne was great she was relaxed and very easy to work with, her play ''I think about myself'' has it's premiere at the Dramaten this Saturday.

I felt a bit stressed when I arrived at the Dramaten I was given just 20 minutes for the shoot, I would have preferred to have been there early before I met Marianne which would have given me more time to just go around the theatre think about the assignment and find a good spot to do the pictures.

However Marianne's relaxed mood relaxed me and we were able to do the pictures on the scene which luckily was being built - one of the crew asked me if I wanted the smoke machine put on - thanks mate! you just helped me get the shot I was looking for.
